Second, research two different companies (not any that you have worked previously or that you
currently work for) and provide what you would consider to be their “recruitment brand”. In other
words, what aspects of their company are they trying to promote?
I chose Western Sugar and United States Postal Service to research. I will start with Western Sugar.
“There’s no doubt about it: your brand matters, and recruitment is no exception. In recent years,
Employer Brand has evolved into the fastest growing area of recruiting, with 62 percent of global talent
leaders saying Employer Brand is their top priority (Alight, 2017).
Western Sugar Cooperative processes sugar beets into sugar with over $350M in annual sales. The
Cooperative has a great history and is currently experiencing strong growth. We make and sell sugar,
“Nature’s Sweetener” to food processors, food service, and consumer customers under the GW brand
and private labels. Our Cooperative is made up of over 850 growers and shareholders who take pride in
having a long family history in raising sugar beets. Some are 4th, or even 5th, generation growers who
were born and raised growing sugar beets. The lifestyle of hard work and long days involved in sugar
beet growing has been passed down for the 100 plus years Western Sugar has existed (Director).
We have a diverse group of employees, with some people being with us for over 50 years, and some
new to their roles. We take pride in our employees and strive to build their success. There are countless
