Employment Privacy
As the HR manager for a company, I am faced with many different issues that I
must resolve. Some of those situations or dilemmas can test the ethical fibers and/or
require decision making from legal perspective. One situation in particular comes to
mind, involving my boss Bill, who is also the owner of the company I work for. Bill has
suspensions that his assistant Paige has been stealing from the company. Larry made
several requests of me to help him determine if Paige is indeed stealing from the
company. These requests could be unethical and illegal, therefore requiring me to put on
my HR thinking cap and further researching the situation. Also to further complicate the
situation, there is a rumor going around the office that Bill and Paige are engaging in a
