Elephant Conservation
My name is Tiffany Turnbull, I am an activist and I am fighting to put a stop to the
extinction of the elephant population and working to increase their numbers in Africa.
Something needs to be done to save these very important, very amazingly beautiful
creatures. They are very beneficial and help make positive changes in their habitats.
African elephants are the largest herbivore land animal on earth and are considered
“Keystone species”, meaning they play various important roles that benefit the
biodiversity of the ecosystems in which they live. They are also among the most intelligent
of the creatures with whom we share the planet and are capable of strong emotions.
These amazing creatures make room for smaller species to co-exist by trampling forests
and dense grasslands, they also create water holes during the dry season by using their
tusks to dig up dry riverbeds during dry seasons. These new water sources are then used
