Effects of Aging on the Systems
As we age, changes in functioning and the structure of our bodies begin to take
place. Physiological aging is usually involuntary and occurs gradually, affecting all of our
body’s systems. The text below explains how aging affects each system all the way
down to the cell level.

The time needed to heal usually takes twice as long for the elderly than the
