The Importance of a School Uniform Policy
The subject of school uniforms has been the subject of many debate discussions and
emotional sentiments. School uniforms are a peaceful way of filling the gap of clothing
while in
the pursuit of education. I believe schools should have a uniform policy based on these
reasons:
the cost is economical, the atmosphere is disciplined and the concept is non-competitive.
To begin with, it may be argue that uniforms are unattractive, expensive to maintain, and
boring. However, the choice of appropriate material color and style can overcome these
problems. Furthermore, there may be a weakness with regards to insecurity aspects. It is
the
responsibility of the distributor of these uniforms to ensure that they are monitored and
sold to
the right people. Another reason for individuals to go against the school uniform policy is
the
matter of class. For example, some rich parents reject the idea of their children wearing the
same
uniform as children that are in low class neighborhoods. These reasons are not valid to
object a
school uniform policy.
Economically, school uniforms are less expensive than most regular clothing. For example,
the cost of a brand name jean and shirt is far in excess of the cost of a “Dickies” uniform
