EDUCATION AND ITS IMPORTANCE
As what Martin Luther King, Jr. said “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to
think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” Many believe that the presence of
education in the society gives a hope for each one to be able to achieve and succeed in many things life has to
offer. Education allows one to partake in a vast amount of knowledge and the drive to learn as a counterpart of
their abiding curiosity. It gives individuals a sense of security in knowing that they can be of help to the society
through the knowledge they have been given. The gift of education allows one to attain certain skills and improve
these skills as time passes and allows each individual to make a change, big or small, through the knowledge that
they possess. With this in mind, it can truly be considered that education is vital for the improvement of each
individual and is, therefore, a right that each one is presented with.
The importance of education is seen all throughout the happenings in the society. The lack of education,
for example, causes one to not be aware of certain laws presented and becomes the source of deviating from the
society. Education enables individuals to become disciplined in terms of following the laws, and the lack of this,
only intensifies their drive to diverge from what society expects them to be. It is necessary for a society to give
importance in presenting education for everyone, for those who are educated tend to possess great opinions on
societal problems that can change the perception of others as well. Those who are given education use their
knowledge to change or improve many discoveries or inventions that have emerged, as well as the information
that circulates within the society. The necessity of allowing each one the gift of education can also be supported in
a way of deliberating that those who are educated, become the benefactors of the human race. The intellectual
capacity of these educated individuals allows them to contribute more on the improvements of the society. People
