The article explains the application of multi sectoral model, USAGE that gives quantitative
analysis of economy-wide effects to reduce unlawful immigrants in U.S. employment. The
writers, shows the statistics of the surveys results of public attitudes towards illegal immigrants
working in United States. The views were, the unlawful immigrants are impoverishing
low-income legal citizens by depriving them of jobs to the view that they are vital to the
economy as they undertake jobs that legal residents are unwilling to do. Also the writers
emphasize that with reduction in illegal immigrants, low-skilled domestic workers will be in
more pressure from higher skilled workers who can no more find vacancies in higher skilled
jobs.
