Summary
The article I chose to review was from the Economist entitled, “The Right Dose, A Merger Between CVS
Health and Aetna Could be What the Doctor Ordered”. This article is about the merger between Aetna
and CVS Health. CVS Health started as a small storefront back in 1963 I Lowell, Massachusetts only
selling health and beauty products. Their key strategy
was to put their customers first thats why they named the
store Consumer Value Stores (CVS). Since then they
have sold to company to a large firm and it is a major
player in the healthcare industry. Last year they had a
revenues of $177 billion, which came from their 9,700
retail pharmacies, mail ordered drug sales, and the sales
of expensive specialty medications. With this kind of
volume CVS ends up commanding nearly a quarter of
the American market for prescription drug sales. This
