Background
ONergy was established in 2009 to address the significant gap, which was noticed in the rural
areas in the energy supply situation. ONergy’s design team has developed a full range of solar
water pumping solutions (AC & DC, Surface & Submersible available from 0.5HP to 10HP)
offered as per users’ needs. Components are procured from various suppliers. The suppliers
manufacture the products as OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) of ONergy.
Components are assembled and quality checks performed at ONergy Central Hub. We have
created a uniquely different last–mile distribution and service infrastructure. A network of rural
entrepreneurs, dealers of agricultural products and other grassroots organisations promote
the solar pumps.
The foremost point of promoting solar energy products is building a strong distribution and
servicing network, user education, promoting appropriate technology, and facilitating
consumer financing. We focus on serving the BOP population and making them understand
the operational and technical know–how, and establishing the service networks for quick
support available in remote regions. We operate through vertical integration (which provides
value throughout the entire chain and eliminate middleman) and horizontal integration (by
providing a range of appropriate energy products).
