Have you often wondered where are goods come from? Sure, you can look at the labels, but
have you just sat and thought how do we get so man items to the United States? Well, the United
States has agreements with countries to get the goods to the country. Do you know what
countries we trade with? There is many. The United States has agreements with Canada, China,
Mexico, Japan and Germany. There has been much talk about should or should we not lift the
embargo on Cuba. If the embargo is lifted we will trade with Cuba again.
The United States have deficits with all the countries that they trade with. “More than 40% of
the U.S. trade in goods was with China” (Amadus, 2015). Japan is the next with a smaller deficit,
and Germany is third. “Canada, the U.S. and Mexico are partners in the world’s largest trade
agreement, NAFTA” (Amadus, 2015). NAFTA is the North American Free Trade Agreement.
NAFTA helps to make trade easier for North America.
