I. Introduction and its Background
Nowadays, people have using different herbal soap that are
expensive and less effective. The researcher aims to make an effective
and cheaper herbal soap. Like guava leaves, it contains both major
antioxidant pigments, carotene and polyphenols giving them high
dietary antioxidant value among plant foods.
Guava leaves has a benefits in making herbal soap because it has
that properties that can make the skin look good and protects the skin.
II. Statement of the problem
The researchers aims to answer the following questions:
1. Is the guava leaves extract effective in making herbal soap?
2. Does guava leaves extract effective for washing wounds?
III. Formulation of the Hypothesis
The following guides the researchers to answer the problem stated
above:
1. The guava leaves is effective in making herbal soap.
2. Guava leaves extract is effective for washing wounds.
IV. Significance of the study
Guava leaves extract is effective of washing wounds. The
significance of the study is to have a beneficial usage of guava leaves.
Specifically on the fresh green leaves. This study also aims to produce
an affordable herbal soap by making use of the natural properties of
guava leaves extract.
V. Scope and Delimitation of the study
This studies focuses only to the effectiveness of the guava leaves
extract soap as a substitute of washing wounds. In this manner, it is a
cheaper compare to the commercial one.
VI. Definition of terms
Guava– a genus of about 100 species of tropical shrubs and small trees.
Antioxidant– is a molecule capable of slowing or preventing the
oxidation of other molecule.
Pigments– is a material that changes the color of light as a result of
selective color absorptions.
Carotenoids– a pigment essential for good vision and precursor to
Vitamin A.
Polyphenols– were one briefly known as Vitamin P which are group of a
chemical substances found in plants.
