We are living in a world that continues to collect trash and we are running out of space to
put it. The world will continue to suffer the consequences of the human waste until the
economics of recycling becomes valuable and cost effective to companies. Although this is true
the process of recycling has become an efficient and effective process, and will become the wave
of the future.
A huge indicator that there was a problem was a situation with a barge named Mabro
4000. In 1987, a garbage barge left Long Island and travelled traveled up and down the coast to
find a port to take the trash. This was due to the fact there was no more space in the landfills
along the coast. This event led to having recycling programs becoming a major project within the
