Research Proposal
When I was a 15 years old student, I knew a girl who was confident, gorgeous and
easy-going. She studied with me, and we usually spent hours talking about everything.
But suddenly everything crashed down for her. Her parents decided to give her in marriage
despite her early age. After some years she became a slave in her husband’s house, and
now she has no any rights, choice or freedom. Being sadly impressed of my friend’s life, I
felt sorry to the thousands of Tajik girls’ lives who enter to marriage at an early age and
without their full consents. My research paper will discuss about abolishing or tackling
early marriage in my home country Tajikistan. This paper will show all possible reasons
and consequences of early marriage. My intended audiences are those families who are
still practicing early marriage despite the laws abolishing early marriage. Thus, I assume
that this paper will help to raise awareness about early marriage and will assist to avoid
several early marriages in my country Tajikistan.
