In my three page paper I will be explaining DUI key factors and the three elements that
goes along with it. These three elements are based on driving or operating a motor vehicle, upon
a public street or highway, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs. I’m also going to be
getting into the Michigan State Police v. Sitz 1990 case, and how it affected checkpoints.
Each state in the United States has a law against driving under the influence of drugs or
alcohol. Car accidents happen so often, that minimizing them from happening is a must. In order
to do that, making DUI charges is basically something we all have to agree with. Doing so helps
protect not only the driver who’s currently under the influence, but any other pedestrians driving
or simply just in the area. The definition for Under the influence is – A condition in which drugs
or alcohol affected the nervous system, brain, or muscles as to impair an appreciable degree the
ability to operate a motor vehicle in a manner like that of an ordinary, prudent, and cautious
