Introduction
Using prohibited substance to enhance performance is dubbed as ‘doping’ in sports.
As the behaviour severely damages the fairness of the sports games, it is considered
as a serious issue. In 1999, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) was founded to
fight against the drug abuse issue in sports. The sports industry has been working hard
to eliminate drug abuse in all sports. Drawing on different sources, the essay is going
to discuss the phenomenon of drug abuse in sports and investigate the risk
management of it. The essay argues that while WADA’s anti-doping policies may bear
their limitations, two new models may create some more possibilities in mitigating the
issue.
