Dream VS Reality
From the moment we are birthed from the womb, we are fortunate enough to live through
this experience called life. Our interaction with the outer world using all of our senses
continuously shape and mold our minds. Even more so, our interaction and experiences with the
people around us create or change feelings and emotions that we carry on for the rest of our
lives. When we sleep however, all of this consciousness is put to rest, and we enter a completely
different world, a world full of dreams. In this state of subconscious-ness, it feels as if we are in
an alternate universe. Our imagination runs wild, and anything is possible. For instance, this one
time I dreamt that I won a multi-million dollar lottery, and when I took my ticket to the liquor
store to redeem it I was chased by a mob of people in ski masks. I woke up from the dream
sweating and panting, my blood pumping as the adrenaline coursed through me. Most of the time
however, trying to recall the fleeting details of the dream is nearly impossible. When we are able
to remember the dream, it is our tendency to find value and meaning behind the subconscious
experience, as if it were a warning or a harbinger of the future. Many disagree, saying that in the
subconscious state, the brain is simply trying to process all of the sights, interactions, and
subconscious is what creates and shapes our reality.
