It seems like Polingaysi had an eventful
childhood. She played with her fellow tribe
members and had a great time. Although
there were good and bad times, this was her
own culture and no one could take this away
from her. She wanted to experience the
boarding schools herself and she went, and
she was taught to pray and do routine work. I
think this scared her a lot because it was so
different from what she is used to in her tribe.
It seems like she could not relate to the
white-man and she had to do many of the
