Dong Thap province sow rice seed early in the winter –spring rice crop
Following to the winter –spring rice crop schedule, 2019 – 2020, Dong Thap
province will sow rice seeds with 205,000 hectare. Till now, more than 20,000
hectare has been sown early. It accounted for 10% of the schedule that concentrated
in Thap Muoi district, and Cao Lanh.
The separated area number 11 for cultivating rice in Phuong Thinh village covers
2,200 hectares, including 1900 hectare being cultivating rice seeds. It is also one of
the last zones of Dong Thap province that sows rice seeds early. Additionally, in
cooperative number 2, Gao Giong, farmers had also sowed rice since the end of
August in the lunar calendar that included 3 kinds: Dai Thom 8, Nang hoa 9 and
5451.
