1) What is your reaction to the film?
The film creates a lot of anger for me. I do not understand why people have to abuse their
spouses, or anyone of that matter. Watching the film just makes you realize how pathetic the
abusers are and also tells you there are warning signs. The pathetic part, there is nothing we can
do to fix. However, the warning signs can be utilized to help other people avoid those situations.
There were warning signs at the beginning of the relationship, it was probably clear to most of
the people watching that film that the warning signs were there. However, Amy would
rationalize the warning signs and I wish, I or anyone, could have caught her attention enough for
her to avoid getting into this situation. Sadly, I doubt that would have avoided another incident
because her husband would have moved on to the next unsuspecting victim. This is where I have
anger, because he should not have the ability to have a victim.
2) Were you able to identify with any of the people in the documentary? With Amy? Her
mother? Her co-workers?
I could not identify with Amy or her co-workers; I do not have the personality to tolerate
what I heard in the video like they did. I could definitely identify with the father. In my 18
years in the military, I have encountered enough domestic violence that I can at least sympathize
with the father. The movie never states what happens to the husband after the murder, but I can
only assume the father took the legal route and called the police. This is where I have to end
