1. At the beginning of Chapter 2 as they are crossing campus, David begins his argument
for God’s existence by saying that the universe had to come from somewhere. He goes on
to explain that the Big Bang Theory says that the universe originated in a massive
explosion and that we are living in the aftermath. What he is arguing is that something
had to have caused the explosion itself to happen, that something being God’s act. That
leaves open the argument from Oscar that God could’ve been destroyed in the explosion
and it doesn’t prove that he is a good God. If “Everything has to come from somewhere”
(p.15) that means that God must come from somewhere too since he is considered
