Do employees have human rights? What are human rights? Is there such thing as rights
that are not within the law or contract? But what about the rights to each employee’s
privacy? Questions about human right especially within the work environment is still not
fully understood by everyone. Let’s start off by defining human rights. Human rights is
defined in our text book as, “those moral rights that individuals have simply in virtue of
being a human being”.
As some may ask or think about the question, do employees have human rights, the way I
see it from my point of view is that everyone is entitled to human rights, but it is up to each
of the individuals to enforce their human rights to their employer. If you don’t treat
yourself with value, or have a sense of moral value, your employer can take you for
granted. For example, some employers will only let employees use the restroom on their
scheduled break time. Then, there are some employers who allows their employees to use
the restroom whenever they want. Some employer will micromanage you to make you feel
trap, which a lot of times, leads one to feel like they do not have human rights.
What is human rights? Human rights is the moral rights that individuals have of being a
human being. A lot of employees may think that they don’t have human rights due to being
mistreated by their employer. Some may feel that they don’t have human rights probably
