NWOSU DIVISION OF BUSINESS MISSION STATEMENT:
Northwestern Oklahoma State University Division of Business has a mission statement
that is student-centered. The mission goes as followed, “The Division of Business provides a
quality, students-oriented learning environment to prepare students to be adept, ethical, fiscally
responsible business professionals and leaders, not only in the workplace but also in their
communities, contributing to the intellectual, cultural and economic vitality of our world.”
The mission statement captures the priorities of NWOSU staff; professors strive to
provide a learning experience where all students are encouraged to participate. In addition to
course, material professors at NWOSU provide students with real-life business scenarios based
on their professional experience in the business world. Most importantly the NWOSU division of
business has created a culture that allows students to learn and grow either in the classroom or
online; such flexibility is the key to success.
BUSINESS DEPARTMENT CODE OF ETHICS
Northwestern Oklahoma State University Business Division code of ethics promotes
ethical behavior and individual thinking. Academic integrity allows students to take
accountability for their work while encouraging originality. This creates a feeling of pride among
the student body, as they are inspired to produce their best academic work. Professional
interaction with peers and faculty is expected and enforced at NWOSU. This includes
punctuality, ethical communication and respectful apparel among other things. NWOSU code of
ethics has no tolerance for discrimination or harassment of students or teachers. The prompt
enforcement of the code of ethics creates an environment of equality and respect among the

student and staff. The culture established by the mission statement and code of ethics is one that
grants the ability for personal and academic growth, critical thinking and professionalism.
STAKEHOLDERS
Individuals participating in the program are stakeholders, as students depend on NWOSU
business department for their higher education. The relationship between students and a college
is symbiotic as one cannot exist without the other. The Division of Businesses has an impact on
students, as their future careers depend on the quality of education received at NWOSU. Students
learn real business practices from professionals who have an academic degree in the subject as
well as world experience. Students not only benefit from an education, but they get to
experience personal growth as well. As a student myself, I find value in having an NWSOU
campus in my hometown. Accessibility to an education is important for non-traditional students
