RE: Solution to peace over the dispute over the East Sea (South China Sea). Mainly
included my hometown, Nha Trang, a city along the Vietnamese coast.
Introduction: China have always been violating rights and laws to Vietnam. From the
period of 1979-1980, China and Vietnam went to war at the northern border between two
countries Today, the border war never stops. However, it moved to the sea. Most recently,
China and Vietnam have been involved in the dispute between each other and another 5
countries over landmarks located on the East Sea (also known as the South China sea).
This dispute has been going on for more than 30 years and a solution to countries that
involve was never issued. Today, instead of using peace talk to reclaim the land. China
has deployed Navy troops over the region to solve the dispute with armed force and
probably over firearms. Green said “This issue has raise international attention and many
countries in the Western world, including the US, are disagree to China’s action.”
(Green). “In addition to the periodically scheduled Foreign Ministry press meetings,
Vietnam held two international press conferences to publicize the dispute on May 7th and
June 6th.” (Bui 7).
Proposal: Solution to stop of Chinese military force operating in Vietnamese territories in
the East Sea (aka the South China Sea).
Background: The Chinese Government has been violating international laws, sending
ships and troops to claim territories that has always been belong to Vietnam. Recently,
fishermen from Vietnam had been fired at by the Chinese military. The areas affected in
the dispute include my hometown, Nha Trang, a city that lies along the coast of Vietnam.
Nha Trang is the city that administered the Paracels island, which is one of the two main
islands that involve in the dispute. This issue violates multiple international laws. This
prevent Vietnam economic growth since fishing and maritime trade are Vietnam’s main
income. Tourism also affected. Chinese nationals were allowed to travel to Vietnamese
claim lands while Vietnamese are unable to. Recently, China sent multiple oil rigs to the
Vietnamese exclusive economic zone in the South China Sea area. That raise many
