John is experiencing a dramatic/erratic personality disorder, more specifically a borderline
personality disorder, linked to mood disorder and a change in his sexual behavior. In this
case I would propose a psychoanalytic approach giving me, the therapist, a better
interpretation of the client’s feelings and behaviors leading to a more accurate therapy.
John shows at least four stages in his personality depending on his mood. When John feels
very confident, he shows traits of an alfa male strongly attracted to women linked to
narcissist behaviors. In another situation, where he experiences poor self-esteem showing
an avoidant personality, he feels attracted to alfa males. In a different case he could be
attracted to passive males, being him the alfa one; here his self-esteem is high, but lacks
confidence having an obsessive compulsive personality. Another situation where he feels
more stable and self-centered, he is attracted to males and females.
