Yes, temperatures registered in recent years are unusual, but scientifically justified.
Research has shown the earth goes through some sort of natural changes. These changes
are poised by the greenhouse effect, sun’s energy reaching earth, and the reflectivity of our
atmosphere and earth’s surface, when these are properly aligned we are privileged with
moderate temperatures and somewhat easy adaptability.
To my point, out of these three indicators, the sun’s energy reaching earth is the only one
that has remained constant over the years; that is, the sun has continuously shone down on
earth at the same intensity and rate. Hence, atmosphere’s / earth reflectivity and the
greenhouse effect are the main factors why we have experienced temperature records. The
greenhouse effect has been abruptly changed by human massive emission of carbon
dioxide (co2) and methane into the atmosphere, as these two absorb sun’s energy and
prevent it from leaving the atmosphere. Melting ice in the poles is another problem that
affects the reflectivity of the rays coming from the sun and these are absorbed instead.
Once we understand the science behind temperature change and the fact that we see
temperature records nowadays is not a surprise. There has been 100 years of accurate
earth’s temperature readings, and yes the hottest years have been demonstrated in the last
