Hello, my name is Ja’leia Colar and I am from Berwick, LA. I am in my junior year of college and my major
is Family and Consumer Sciences. When I am not working or attending class, my favorite hobbies are
shopping, eating out with sorority sisters, and doing fun things with family. My family consist of my
mom, my two brothers, and my grandmother. I would say that my favorite family memory from when I
was younger was when my whole family took a trip to Orlando, Florida. This is my favorite memory
because my family that I had not seen in forever came and we did all kind of fun things like visiting
Universal Studios. While I am taking this class, I hope to learn more about family life. I want to learn
about how different types of families run their households, how the whole divorce process works, and I
also hope to learn about mixed families around the world. I believe that in this class I will learn a lot
about families that will help me in my future career.
