SR Discourses and Literacy
The differences in between Discourse are explained in the article. A Discourse is a
“Identity kit” meaning something that defined who you are as a person. Discourse always
displays membership in a group the kind of Discourse you are would be the role of your group.
There different discourse you could be in that would require you to like the one thing to be in
that group.
Gee talks about different groups of discourses in schools when you are in a group.
Discourses being accepted socially, being the role model, and how they are ideological. The
way its formatted is difficult to understand. Seems like all the discourse examples relate to
school and group activities. Although if we do participate in group activities in class does not
mean it would go well. Yes if our discourses is the same it would be easier to get along but we
