The resources required for this crime scene would first involve a legal counsel. This is useful
because it helps the team stay within their legal limits, as well as making sure that everything is carried
out in the proper legal manner. When we are processing the scene of a crime, we want all of the
evidence and data collected to have the poten al to be used in a court of law to help us win the case.
Some examples of the legal counsel’s job would be obtaining wri%en authoriza on to inves gate the
scene, or making sure that everything the team is doing is within their scope of limita on.
The internet service provider for the computers is a valuable resource, as they have the ability to
look at previous data that was sent or received from the computer. They can pinpoint any suspicious
ac vi es that occurred, and no ce if any data was sent or received at a me when it shouldn’t have
been. That would help determine the approximate me of the crime. The legal and IT would need to be
paid. Money is a resource that is needed for many of the processes that occur during an inves ga on,
including legal fees, and wages of the inves gators.
The owner of the computers, or the building itself are important resources. They will know if
there have been any problems with the computers or if there was any suspicious ac vity taking place in
the room of the crime scene during, or before the crime occurred. The owner should also have the
passwords to the computers, if any. Having these passwords will make the inves ga on of the computers
a lot easier. Another important resource would be knowing if there were any other inves ga ons on the
scene before this current inves ga on. The owner would have this informa on and would be able to
provide us with any previous reports.
There are many sources of evidence that can be drawn from looking at the picture of the crime
scene. For one, the computer and each individual component would be very useful for tes ng. The
laptop is especially ques onable since it is portable, and can be taken outside of the workplace. We
