Written report
When I came back to school after a five-year hiatus, I thought I wanted to major in
nutrition. I tried talking to people and asked them which route I should take and which classes I
should take. It seemed nobody knew where to direct me– until I was finally able to have
somebody with my ideas. When I was able to find somebody to help me out, I specifically told
them I wanted to focus on animal nutrition. I was sent towards a Nutrition & Dietetics major
but it didn’t focus on animal nutrition so I wasn’t fully satisfied– but for the moment I went with
it. My first semester at Hillsborough Community College last fall of ’16 I thought Nutrition and
Dietetics was the route for me. When I started my first semester at Hillsborough Community
College, I took classes needed for the Nutrition & Dietetics degree- Sanitation & Safety
Management, Fundamentals of Human Nutrition. I was even looking at Human Nutrition majors
and Animal Science minors, but that still didn’t seem to be what I was going for. This semester,
Spring of ’17 I still thought Nutrition & Dietetics was the trajectory I was going to be taking until
