Remembering: What did I do?
• The artist I studied was the well know Mexican painter Diego Rivera whom helped
establish the Mexican mural movement.
• What I liked about the artist was his originality in his art. I liked the way he represented
the lives of the natives in Mexico through his murals. I also liked that he didn’t give up
and stood for what he believed by not accepting defeat when it came to one of his murals
“The Man at the Crossroads”. This mural was originally planned to be in the lobby of the
RCA building in Rockefeller Center in New York. It was taken down due to some
controversy with one of the portraits. Diego Rivera refused to replace the portrait image
and was paid and told to leave.
