Abstract
Crime rates have been steadily increasing in the United States, thus increasing the number of
incarcerations across the nation. As a result of deviant behavior, there is speculation that
friendship can be the core to the contributing factor of how serious the crimes being committed
are. In addition to this, peers play a significant role in crime as well as supportive friends.
