It feels like it all happened just yesterday. I’ve been caring it with me every day.
Sometimes I wish it had never happened. This feeling has been buried inside me since that
incident. Now, I think about hate. In the past I use to believe that hate couldn’t exist
because eventually you have to forgive but NO, hate always lives among us. But there’s a
reason why this occurred. If this incident wouldn’t have ever happened nothing would’ve
changed. Back then they called me Force but now I’m Jose Razo and this is my story….
It has been six years, since the incident happened. When I woke up I was so happy because
today was my birthday, the best day of the year. Though I didn’t know what to expect from
today, I had some feeling deep inside that it was going to be great. Suddenly I felt goose
bumps all around my body from a delightful scent downstairs. As I tippy-toed down the
creaky stairway, I noticed something on the corner of my left eye. My mom was making
pancakes with toast, my favorite. I figured that because she was making my favorite
breakfast I was going to get that video game I wanted for my birthday. I sat down in a
chair waiting to get food in my plate, as the wasp of delicious food landed in my plate. I
smiled so hard and buried my face enjoying every last bit of food. When I was done my
mom said go upstairs and change. We’re going out to the store. At the time I thought we
were going to the mall and we really did go to the store… just to buy some laundry
deterrent. When I got home, opened the door, and walked in, people shouted Happy
Birthday. I was so amazed on how many presents there were in the corner of the house; oh
yeah there were a lot of people too. It was fun seeing my family and friends; my best
friends bought me some illegal and legal fireworks. I was so happy and my friends
suggested: we go to the park and light them up. I said, “Yeah man!” I asked my mom if I
could go to the park, she responded with a big wide smile saying “Yeah, just make sure
you’re home by 10:30 p.m.
