Deportation Stirring the U.S Economy
What makes someone an American? Who lives in the U.S.? and Are Americans the only
ones who help the U.S. economy? “The foreign born population consisted of 40.7 million people
in 2012,” CAP Immigration Team informed “broken down by immigration status, the foreign
born population was composed of 18.6 million naturalized United States citizens and 22.1
million noncitizens in 2012. Of the noncitizens, approximately 13.3 million were legal
permanent residents, 11.3 million were unauthorized migrants, and 1.9 million were on
temporary visas.” United States of America is a nation full of immigrants or immigrant ancestors
which is one of the things that help the U.S. economy and should not be deprived or banned from
the U.S.
The “American Dream” originated from immigrants. Every immigrant wanting to
accomplished that dream was fleeing away from the poverty and poor government country they
called home and working a middle wage job to opening their own business one day providing a
better life, not only for themselves but for their family as well. Those success stories would
simply not be possible if the generations of immigrants coming from different parts of the globe
wouldn’t have arrived to the US. The business created by all the immigrants are the one who
have helped the US build the economy and make America have the best economic country in the
globe. According to the small Business Administration, “immigrants are thirty percent more

likely to start a business in the United States than non- immigrants and eighteen percent of all
small business owners in the United States are immigrants” Furman believed. Since immigrants
are people running away from their past they are striving for a new one. They have goals and are
more determined and careful than the people who are not running away or hiding from any
government force that is trying to return them to the country they fled from.
The small businesses being created each year by immigrant also create jobs for anyone in
the U.S. the more business there is the more jobs will be for the people, having the
unemployment rate decrease. In the fiscal policy, “small business owned by immigrants
employed an estimate 4.7 million people in 2007, and according to the latest estimate these small
business generated more than 776 billion annually,” Gray apprised, having a self-owned business
