Denmark has and is evolving into a modern and flourishing country that has a liberal
party government that has been a part of the European Union since 1973. Denmark is on the
eccentric side of the European Union with a freedom score of 76.6 higher than the United States
putting them twelfth on the 2018 freedom Index. This is even due for an increase in score, led by
judicial effectiveness, decreased tax burdens, and improved government spending indicators.
Denmark has a well performing and efficient economy that has an Open-market policy with large
trade and investment flows, and a transparent legal environment that promotes entrepreneurial
activity (2017, Denmark). Denmark has a modern economy with leading industries include high-
tech agriculture segment, pharmaceuticals, maritime shipping, and renewable energy. With them
being such a modern economy Denmark’s leading growth factor is research and development
producing an 198% growth increase. With R&D being the lead growth factor, it is followed by
beverages, energy, and IT. (2016, Denmark) The largest companies in Denmark are Moller-
Maersk, Danske Bank, Novo Nordisk, and, Carlsberg. (2017, Forbes Global 200).
The countries culture using Hofstede’s dimensions, first using collectivism versus
individualism scoring a 66-76. Denmark leans toward the individualism side meaning they put
task before relationships. This explains their encouragement and expansion of entrepreneurial
activities. With the expectancy of individualism ideas and new businesses support the growth of
the company. On the Power Distance maps Denmark scores 23-40 being small. On the
