RESEARCH PROPOSAL
Research Title:
Delay in rewards delays the forth-coming performance in organization
Introduction:
The following research has been conducted in order to study the association between the
employee rewards and the overall performance of the organizations as well as to determine the link
between intrinsic and extrinsic rewards. The work investigates the elements of intrinsic and extrinsic
rewards that influence employee conduct; therefore it will lead commercial banks to focus on a
more organized and precise means of responding to employee accomplishments which will yield in
maintaining the trend of high performance within the organization (Aktar, Sachu & Ali, 2012). This
research emphasizes on the traditional approach of motivating employees by attaching the rewards
with their performance. Motivation comes up with various types of processes which increase and
enhance individual’s behavior in order to obtain the desired objective (Baron, 1983).
BACKGROUND:
One of the basic ways of motivating employees is by rewarding them so that they are willing to put
their utmost efforts and come up with unique ideas that will result in the better performance of the
business in terms of both financial and non-financial aspects. According to Dewhurst et al. (2010),
employees can be rewarded in various other ways which shift our attention from monetary benefits.
Informal appraisals of employees by their managers, the chances to work on vital assignments and
even the administrative regard are a few examples of it. Further study on supervisory authority tells
us that the authority of managers to reward the employees is directly related to the employee work
