TOPIC3. Are beauty contests harmful?

o In my opinion, beauty contests always contain harmful elements and the organization of
such contests can lead to a lot of serious consequences in the future, especially for the
development of Girls. Because beauty pageants are of the essence of enhancing physical
beauty over other human qualities (according to The Free Encyclopedia), they can cause
the younger generation to misinterpret the importance of human personality in society.
Although there are tests in human perception as well as a social awareness in beauty
contests, those factors are not highly appreciated. Therefore, we can easily recognize the
flaws in the personality of the beauty pageants after the beauty pageants. Typically, the
scandal of Miss Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen about bad behavior, disrespect to her parents, and
fake charity. Or is the case of the beauty queen related to prostitution cases such as runner-
up Thai My Linh, runner-up Thu Dung. Because the media power of beauty pageants is so
great, these incidents have caused a huge negative wave on society and contribute to the
destruction of the overall image of women.
