Dead Poet’s Society Reflection
I chose to watch the movie Dead Poets Society for this assignment. I chose this one
because I have heard of it many times and had heard how great it was but had never seen it. Dead
Poets Society is a great movie that focuses on the change that personal relationship and passion
in the classroom can make. The teacher in the movie John Keating who is played by Robin
Williams is a replacement English teacher and alumni of Welton Academy where he teaches. He
teaches in a way that the students have never seen and he even opens with a speech about
imminent death and tells the boys to rip out the pages in their books that have to do with the
science of poetry. He then teaches them the works of famous romantic poets in his own way
instead. The boys generally loved his ways, but the administration did not. In the process
however he changed the lives of his students. I really enjoyed this movie and it was as good as
