Volkswagen has been one of the leading innovators in automotive creation since the
beginning of their production in 1937. Due to the competitiveness in the automotive industry
there is no surprise that the scandal was not further researched. Each brand of car tries to be
better than the other with the newest and more innovative features than the other. This
emission scandal could have been researched if there were more questions asked on all parties.
When the internal auditors did their inspection, they did not specifically ask about the emission
details, however, all parties in the development not only the engineers should have spoke up
and said something whether the impact would have been positive or negative. Paul Lippe’s
number 5 theory shows how loop holes are created. Volkswagen engineers did not uncover the
