Data Security is a pivotal part of not only businesses that holds customers
information but to any business at all. Some say It’s like a shield, its defense that
protects a business’s information, whether that be shielding a database from
hackers or stopping unauthorized users. But what types of data security are there
and is what they do really that important? Why are companies who have weak or no
present data security being breached and how do companies try to prevent these
breaches. Like the ones that happened in recent memory like with Macy’s in 2018
reporting that a small group of customer information has been leaked and 2013 the
largest hack to a single company in history to web service provider Yahoo having a
“Security Incident” which caused a staggering 1 Billion users accounts to be
compromised. Having their first names,last names, phone numbers and so much
more unsafe. How did this happen?
Mostly every company uses data security to protect their information from
breaches but what are these data securities that they have in place? A common
data security that companies would have is data backup. Data backup is the
business saving their data whether that be physically or on a cloud server so if
they do get hacked and lose this information they don’t lose it entirely. Kind of
how you would save your progress in a video game incase your file gets deleted
