Desert Challenge dance
On Friday, I attended the Desert Challenge Dancesport competition. I found this event
very inspirational! Prior to attending this event, I had never been to any ballroom competition.
The minute I walked in I felt like I was in a movie scene! First and foremost, all the competitors
had amazing outfits. The ladies especially, had gorgeous dresses!! The dance floor was very
professionally designed, and the judges were all very professionally dressed. Everything was set
up just like in the movies. Once the dances started, I was completely mesmerized. My eyes could
not stop looking at how fluently and elegantly the dancers moved. Their posture and form were
perfect.
My favorite dance had to be the tango! After last week’s Charleston Heights outing, one
of the dancers explained the basics of the tango to me. So, at the competition, I specifically
focused my attention on the steps of the tango. Unfortunately, most the moves looked much
more complicated than the ones I learned at the outing, however I was able to grasp the basics.
