Ethical behavior can be defined as demonstrating respect for key moral principles that
include honesty, fairness, equality, dignity, diversity and induvial rights and tends to be good for
business. Back in 2009 a man named Dave Carroll was traveling from Canada to Nebraska when
his Taylor guitar was damaged by United Airlines. He spent nine months trying to get some sort
of reimbursement but they persistently shut him down. He created a fun, smart, and catchy song
called “United Breaks Guitars” which quickly went viral. United Airlines realized the affect that
had taken place once the video was uploaded and offered Carroll a deal for the video to go away.
Five years later United Airlines repeated this event to a man named Ellis Paul, and the airline is
dealing with it the exact same way. It’s brought to question if United Airlines values ethical
behavior and the relationship they provide their customers. To avoid damage to the customer and
