A ray of hope shining throughout my life is my mother. She did not lose faith in me when
the rest of the world did. When I was five, I got lost in a crowded bus stand. I was standing
there crying, looking for mom. She came running to me, her eyes brimming with tears and
said, “I will not leave your side” and she hasn’t since then. It was the time before class XII
final exams. I fell terribly sick with typhoid, got admitted in the hospital. My mother spent
sleepless nights nursed me back to good health. She would bring my text books, read the
