and the internet. Along with technological advancement comes with high security risk as
well.This risk is called cybercrime. The term cybercrime refers to criminal activities that are
engaged with the help of computers, networks, or the Internet. There is a necessity to identify
these risks and protect society from it.
There are several types of Cybercrime. There are listed below:
• Spamming and phishing– two the most common forms of cybercrimes. Unfortunately,
they are difficult to control. As a rule spam is unwanted emails and messages. They
use Spambots. Phishing is a way to receive information and especially personal one
through offering the bait by cyber criminals. The offered bait can be in form of a business
proposal, announcement of a lottery, and anything that promises you money for nothing
or a small favor and by using a fictitious website. Some cyber criminals use the online
loans companies.
• Identity theft –fraud is one of the most ordinary types of cybercrime. This type of crime
is crime when a person purports to be some other person, with a view to creating a fraud
for financial gains. When this is done online on the Internet, it is called Online Identity
Theft.
• Ransom ware – is one of the despicable malware-based attacks. It enters the computer
network and encode files using public-key encryption, this type of encryption key
remains on the hacker’s server. As a rule criminalsask users to pay to receive this private
key.

• Malvertising– is a type of crime when criminals use other innocent website to infect
users. It is the cyber criminals who insert malicious advertisements on the websites
without the knowledge of the latter. The cyber criminals act fast that websites cannot
detect them and protect, and this is the reason why websites do not release that they are
used as a tool of crime. This type of cybercrime is one of the fastest increasing one.
• Scams – Notable among Internet scams are scams which misuse the Microsoft name and
other general tech support scams. Seamstress phone computer users randomly and offer
to fix their computer for a fee. Every single day, scores of innocent people are trapped by
scam artists into Online Tech Support Scams and forced to shell out hundreds of dollars
for non-existent computer problems.
