Music: The Art I Got Lost In
Music [myoo-zik], noun; the act of expressing feelings through a series of notes,
harmonies, and rhythms to make a mellifluous sound. Music is not only a subject itself, but a
subject taught academically that includes five subjects taught prior into one: physical education,
mathematics, history, foreign language, and art. There is the movement of your hands and body
that takes place in playing an instrument, the addition of the notes, the time periods in which the
music was composed, the many languages the repertoire is sung, and the fact that music is
simply a part of the art category. Music can be done through a variety of ways: education,
appreciation, therapy, and performance, all giving forth the same message of art and passion.
Music is understood by everyone, but at the same time, applies to everyone differently.
Music dates back to every civilization in the history of the universe. Music is also applied in
religion; “singing played a vital role in Renaissance culture, both as a form of religious worship
and as a form of entertainment” (Grendler). Music can be seen on paper, and through emotions
in the eyes, soul, and heart of a person or a gregarious setting. Synonyms: art, passion, life, and
essential.
