This article was something that interested me because I am in the process of creating and sticking
to a budget so I enjoyed reading about how a state struggles to manage money, which proves that
being a good steward of money helps not only you but so much more. It can also be detrimental
to the flow of things, which is what this article talks about. The piece done on Illinois,
appropriately titled, “Illinois races against the clock to avoid ‘junk downgrade’”, had me
questioning some things. Julia Horowitz did a good job engaging the reader in what is going on
with this state. It touches on government policy and politics and how it affects the economy and
budget deficits.
