There are many keys to building the ideal organization. All of which tie into each and
every module included in this course. The ideal organization must be built on the ideal
foundation in order to be successful. The leadership is the top of the pyramid in any
organization. The ideal organization begins with authentic, effective, and experienced leaders.
According to Bill George, authentic leadership requires experience through many years of
personal development, experience, and just plain hard work. Although we may be born with
leadership potential, all of us have to develop ourselves to become good leaders. The medium
for developing into an authentic leader is not the destination but the journey itselfa
journey to find your true self and the purpose of your life’s work (George). The ideal
organization requires leaders to build up employees. Authentic leaders must build confidence,
create hope, raise optimism, and strengthen resilience. After authentic experienced leaders are
put in place, the idea organization must then shift focus to building effective teams. Leaders
must use the science of persuasion and the science’s six principles in designing effective teams.
The leaders that are chosen to run the organization must be excellent in networking. Building a
strong, brokering network is a trait that top executives have when selecting new leaders for the
ideal organization. There are six common mistakes in regards to building teams according to
Hackman. When building the ideal organization, it is imperative that these common mistakes
and misconceptions be avoided. According to Pentland, the science of building teams must be
considered. Building teams is just that, a science. Employers must find the “it factor” in
searching for employees to fit in the organization. The ideal organization can be built by
mapping teams in three areas. Through energy, how each potential team member contributes
to the team as a whole. Through engagement, how team members engage with one another.
