For many years the San Antonio community has been among the greatest in reflection of
its rich history and culture in the area. “The vibrant city offers some of the best cultural
institutions, events, restaurants and nightlife in South Texas that both natives and visitors enjoy”
(Wikipedia).
In class we were told to attend a cultural event and explain the things we learned. After
doing a little research of events taken place in the San Antonio area. I came across the Centro
Cultural Aztlan organization. After little research on the organization I decided to attend the art
gallery. I was able to attend the cultural event in the San Antonio area February 18, 2012. I was
able to take a tour of the art located inside the Galeria Expresion. The nonprofit organization
Centro Cultural Aztlan is located in the historic Deco Building in San Antonio. The historic
building sits on what was once the Old Spanish Trail. They serve in the heart of the San Antonio
