Joey Perdomo Cultural Event
Not too long ago I took a trip up to Tulsa with one of my friends named Logan. The same
friend who I went up to the college visit with at Spartan Aviation (he got accepted). I was
curious to see how he was living every day compared to me and how it was up there in
general so I decided to stay a couple nights with him. Nothing was all that different except
the fact that instead of going to the same old boring class at 11 am like I do, he got to do
what he loves and that is fly planes. However, since I’m not particularly into any of that, it
seems pretty scary to me. Anyway, I got curious to see what it was like up there and what
he did for fun. What I experienced that weekend, was, to me, pretty unforgettable.
After he got back from his flying classes (yes he has classes on weekends), we decided to
gear up and go tour around Tulsa since I had never been a regular up there. What caught
my eye was the 3 blocks filled with people of different cultures (mostly Native American)
selling items pertaining to their background. The most memorable event while I was there
was the young Native American girl, around 12-14 years old, running a kiosk by herself.
