Every company has its own set of principles which is provided for all those that work or are
associated with them. The code of ethics for most companies will contain many similarities as the case for
Cinemark Holdings, Inc. and Regal Entertainment Group. On reviewing the code for both companies, it is
noted that both state in their introductions that their codes do not provide detailed guidelines for particular
situations; rather should serve as general standards to operating in an ethical manner (Regal
Entertainment Group, 2013) (Cinemark Holdings, 2007).
Conflicts of interest from both companies hold that if personal interests should interfere with the
company’s interest then it must be reported (Regal Entertainment Group, 2013) (Cinemark Holdings,
2007).. These corporate companies make it clear that those working for them should not take
opportunities only for themselves especially when those opportunities were made available through or
due to the company. Insider trading is strictly prohibited; relays back to compliance with the law because
it is illegal. Actions in which an employee gives competitor inside information to those that work for the
