If human could develop technology to safely erase the tragic, fearful memories associated with
victimization I do believe people would seek this restorative method. Crime victims typically don’t want
to remember the trauma they experience. You’ll often hear them say “I wish it never happened or I wish
I could forget about it” because the event was so traumatizing and life changing to them in a negative
way. Such as being raped, that would cause trust, relationship, and intimate issues. What individual
would want to keep reliving such traumatic event? I would assume nobody! I think that type of
technology would be great and very effective as well as beneficial. We wouldn’t have to worry about the
victim seeking revenge and dealing with the emotion issues of anger and anxiety. It would reduce the
need for counseling and medications as well.
